GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:
Identification, evaluation, analysis and development of customer contacts and product needs. Builds strong relationships with key customer contacts in Purchasing, Engineering and supplier quality functions so that existing business is defended and new business is generated; Customer relationship building in business and entertainment environments at a high, influential, decision making level is critical. Customer entertainment is encouraged and should comply with company policies. Assists in developing and implementing strategies. Understands and reports any significant competitive activity.
This position involves technical and sales related activities performed under the direction of the Sales Director/Sales Account Manager. The responsibility involves daily interface with internal cross functional personnel, including engineering, manufacturing, materials, estimating and accounting teammates in order to manage the tasks detailed below. Customer involvement is required to communicate issues and progress related to the duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
AND DUTIES:
- This position typically does require travel around Vietnam and 25% travel to Ford India to support sales activities. Up to 10% travel to USA as needed for corporate meetings
- Manage tool and engineering recoveries (SO to PO): create and maintain open issues list related to customer PO’s; track tool PO progress; Close open SO’s with customer.
- Maintains close communications with Sales Directors/Vice President- Sales and Marketing, to assure sales contacts, forecasts and changes are incorporated into corporate sales forecasts and company plans.
- Engineering Changes (E/C’s): Follow E/C’s through the system; review customer quote forms; enter E/C quotes into customer systems.
- Comply with SPI policies and procedures. Promote and comply with environmental policies. Comply with the Policies for Health and Safety at Work and any other applicable instructions.
- Purchase order (PO) activity: develop knowledge of customer piece price and tooling PO systems; confirm accuracy of E/C against the PO; process for customer approval.
- Develops and maintains customer and potential customer contacts through schedule visits.
- Pursue opportunities for new work with Vietnamese, Southwest Asian, Automotive Manufacturers. Direct sales responsibility to break into Vinfast in Vietnam
- Manage customer piece price recovery issues (3PA): work with the contracts team to match 3PA’s with E/C’s; assist in creating and tracking customer open issues; Close open 3PA’s with customer.
- Obtain supporting documentation to close claims and bank builds with customer.
- Have a KRA that is reviewed by the Sales Director- USA.
A
CTIVITIES:
- Ability to GO and GET answers rather than just SEND emails and say "no one answers me". This is crucial.
- Help Summit Vietnam be "self sufficient" BUT follow ALL the SPI procedures.
- Ability to learn what negotiations Summit is going to bargain hard on and what negotiations Summit will bargain easy on. Communicate/Lead a negotiating strategy for each product opportunity.
- How to LEAD the customer to the water you want them to drink. And do this in multiple languages.
- Call in to weekly White Board phone in meetings with the TC (USA) on programs as needed.
- Attend weekly pone in (internal) Job launch meetings in Asia/MX/USA as needed.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENT

Complete Profile on line testing
Engineering or Finance degree is preferred.
Pass Wonderlic score of 25 or greater.
Automotive Interior plastics knowledge preferred.
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information.
Experience working with Vinfast, Ford India, or other Automotive industry OEM companies in Southwest Asia is preferred.

EDUCATION

Some Indian language speaking skills is preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Finance is preferred .
Speak/read/write both English and Vietnamese languages.

EXPERIENCE:

Three plus years of direct marketing and/or sales experience in the automobile components market (Interior plastics preferred).
