SUMMARY
Manage assigned categories, supply chain, and product development objectives.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Communicate with vendors as required to develop designs for quoting and production.
Management of entire design process in assigned categories/dockets – “cradle to grave”
Attend weekly conference calls with Toronto Category Managers.
Manage all aspects of development of products from design specification to launch within time, quality and budgetary constraints.
Suggest and finalize product details, material, and construction to achieve target price.
Monitor and communicate progress of design projects using Umbra Project Tracker system to ensure product is released in a timely manner to meet required delivery dates
Sourcing, prospect and maintain alternative supply sources.
Follow- up on purchase orders, development of samples, shipments, quality assurance.
Attend weekly project overview meeting with Product Development Associate.
Visit factories to view work in process and oversee final QC inspections and shipment.
Sign Yellow label samples prior to production.
Manage rework and stock conversion activities.
Coordinate with designer, graphics, QC and vendor in different development stages to execute the design, packing and quality.
Execute annual cost savings initiatives.
Responsible for product cost negotiating and buying price ensuring to meet profit margin.
Evaluate vendors quote to ensure the reasonable costing is setup for new products.
Analyse purchase orders taking into consideration lead- time and supply constraints.
Sign Green label samples from completed production.
Other job duties as assigned.
Maintain communication with internal departments, including merchandising, sales, customer service, logistics, quality control, and production.
Manage vendor performance.
