JOB SUMMARY
Entry level management position that is responsible for the daily operations in Restaurants. Areas of responsibility include beverage service in the Restaurants. Position assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards, assists servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods and supervises restaurant where applicable. Responsibilities include ensuring guest and associate satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Accountable to ensure standards and legal obligations are followed.
JOB SPECIFIC TASKS
Assisting in Management of Restaurant Team
• Assists in supervising daily shift operations
• Participates in department meetings by communicating a clear and consistent message regarding the department goals to produce desired results.
• Supervises restaurant and all related areas in the absence of Restaurant Manager
• Handles associate questions and concerns
• Monitors associates to ensure performance expectation are met.
• Provides feedback to associates based on observation of service behaviours
Conducting Day to Day restaurant operation
• Performs all duties of restaurant associates and related departments as necessary
• Opens and closes restaurant shifts.
• Ensures all associates have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
• Communicates to Chef and Restaurant Manager any issues regarding food quality and service levels
• Managers to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Monitors alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws.
• Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies, standards and procedures
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
• Sets a positive example for guest relations
• Meets and greets guests
• Supervises staff levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
• Strives to improve service performance
• Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
• Encourages associates to provide excellent customer service within guidelines.
• Handles guest problems and complains, seeking assistance from supervisor as necessary.
• Assists in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with associates
Assisting in Human Resources Activities
• Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
• Supervises on- going training initiatives
• Coaches and counsels associates regarding performance on an on- going basis.
• Uses all available on the job training tools for associates

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
OR
• 2- year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major, 2 years of experience in the food & beverage, culinary or related professional area
