JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Supplier Quality Manager will lead the SQE engineers to work with supplier partners to improve the supplier quality performance of the supplied parts, drive the use of proper corrective action methodology and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, driving continuous improvement of the quality systems of the supply base using the necessary quality and problems solving tools to ensure sufficient supplier capability. The candidate will drive the use of proper corrective action methodology for non- conforming suppliers and supplied components and develop process to prevent reoccurrence and ensure compliance to quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Provide leadership on- site at supplier locations to drive team efforts and activities.
Hold meeting with supplier weekly or monthly to discuss any product quality issue / customer complaint, drive corrective action and follow up.
Support NPD/NPI..(New Product Development) projects by focusing on new components’ quality part consistency.
Identify and prioritize suppliers who are lacking in performance and develop plan to visit/audit those suppliers for improvements.
Follow up material quality issues found by IQC,MQA…in mass production and from customer complaint. Follow up with suppliers on 8D SCAR closure and effectiveness to prevent problem recurrence.
Assist Purchasing and customer service to expedite product from suppliers in urgent situations.
Support sourcing team to audit & qualify potential suppliers.
Lead a team of SQE engineers to manage the incoming quality of plastic components under management’s direction & instruction
Review and doing the mold modification with suppliers if needed.
Ensures suppliers meet TTI quality standards. Develop supplier to meet these quality requirements as needed.
Verify report from suppliers (8D,inspection report, test report, etc.); review supplier&039;s documents (process, WI, quality plan, records, etc).
Review the Molding condition/parameters of injection machine at suppliers side.
Review engineering specifications and drawings to determine supplier’s abilities to meet parameters and reviews new and modified product designs from a material standpoint advising modifications when necessary.
Work with Engineering to drive technical document changes when needed.
Prepare the weekly and monthly report to supervisor.
