Backend Developer (Ruby on Rails,NodeJS)

What you will be doing:

• Develop backend services in Node.js & Elixir
• Architect core features, try out things you have only heard of before
• R&D novel and ingenious solutions to unique problems
• Learn and implement best practices from senior backend and devops engineers
• Grow as a developer through personally working on a wide variety of technologies, CI/CD, Serverless, Kubernetes
• Strong focus on efficient, testable, scalable, and reusable modules
• Working on a production platform that are already serving hundreds of thousands of users daily across 7 countries
• Expose yourself to a global company culture (in-house dev team in Vietnam, Singapore and China)
• Contributing as a strong team player, this is critical to our company's values
• For Senior Engineering Positions
  • Play a lead role either in terms of technical development and architecture, or in terms of team management
  • Mentor and nurture engineers

Must have :

• Deep expertise in Elixir/Rails or Node.js and GraphQL
• Experience with container technology (Docker, DC/OS)
• Linux guru - piped commands with sed are second nature to you
• Sound coding practices - git, unit testing, CI/CD, design patterns, service oriented architecture
• Team player, doing anything and everything needed to get things done
• Strong sense of user empathy and ownership over the products you've created

Ideally :

• Personally deployed Kubernetes, or any other container orchestration systems
• Production level serverless (lambda, google cloud functions) experience
• Comfortable with more languages than you have fingers
• Enjoy working in a start-up and open environment
• Self motivated and can work well under pressure
