Boat Mechanic

Assess and replace parts, such as fuel pumps, water pumps, spark plugs, and other electrical components
Perform tests to determine the nature and extent of repairs required
Complete reports and paperwork related to the job
Test and adjust engines for proper performance and ensure that the engines are running efficiently
Identify and correct electrical and hydraulic systems malfunctions
Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair a variety of marine engines, outboard motors and other boat components
Perform scheduled maintenance, overhauls, and tune- ups on inboard and outboard engines

Knowledge of boat systems and marine engines
Good problem- solving skills
Ability to work in sometimes cramped conditions
Good customer service skills
Ability to work independently
