Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Job Purpose: The Chief Accountant reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for planning and coordinating multi- site plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The Chief Accountant will provide financial direction to the plant and be responsible for improving site performance in conjunction with operations leadership. This role is responsible for standardizing processes and internal controls within the plants, month- end close, supporting the management team with information and analytics on plant costs, inventory management, and continuous improvement opportunities. Key areas of responsibility will include spend analysis and control, material & labor variance analysis, forecasting, KPI (key performance indicators) management and reporting, asset safeguarding, and driving cost out opportunities. This person must have high integrity and follow anti- corruption practices. To be successful in the role, this person must also be comfortable walking a plant floor and be able to influence others within the organization that do not directly report to them.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Financial reporting and analysis
Key member of team identifying and driving implementation of cost out opportunities
Data Integrity – Ensure that plant activity for production, shipments, receipts, internal transfers, plant expenses, and inventory adjustments are recorded timely and accurately so that information in the systems can be relied upon for accounting, financial reporting, supply chain execution, and analysis.
Regulatory filings – Responsible for ensuring all regulatory forms have been filed and documentation is maintained to support the filings. Point of contact for all financial and tax filing questions in Vietnam.
Month- end Close and Financial Reporting- Responsible for monthly accounting close and reporting cycle, including balance sheet account reconciliations, key statistical entries, manufacturing variances and other financial reporting requirements.
Collate labor straight time and overtime daily and review with plant management.
Spend Analysis and Control – Drive investigations in weekly/monthly dashboard of spending, highlighting opportunities for improvement.
Monitors spending on key categories to include maintenance, supplies, and consumables, and support company initiatives to reduce spending.
Ensure correct codifications of expenses are in line with company standards.
Support analysis and commentary of drivers behind variances, month to month vs. prior year, and forecast and budget.
Review production variances (materials & labor) with management and help drive to root cause.
General Accounting – Ensure compliance with policies and procedures in accordance with Vietnam Accounting Standards with respect to period recognition of costs, capital vs. expense, accruals, etc. Implement Standard Operating Procedures and make recommendations to improve them for potential adoption across all plants. Support internal and external audit requirements according to the PBC listing.
Partners with the Vietnam President, Director of Production, Planning, Sourcing and Procurement and Vietnam Operations team in all their financial reporting and analysis needs.
Review, investigate variances to identify root cause, drive process change/control to eliminate variances, and approve inventory cycle counts inter- month and period- end physicals in- line with Company instructions, document results, and suggest improvements.
· Forecasting & Budgeting
When required, participate in capital expenditure development, and post spend audit.
Recommend ideas and collaborate around driving working capital improvement plans.
Annual Budgeting- Guide and support the plant operations and supply chain teams through the annual budget cycle and re- forecasts.
Planning & Forecasting- Coordinate the plant and administrative annual planning with preparation of the plant budget, monthly forecasts, and ongoing reporting and analysis of actual costs vs, budget, key drivers of variances, and identifying opportunities for cost management. This includes certain weekly spend and KPI reporting.
· Process and internal controls
Drive inventory process controls and variance reporting including establishing a global standardized ABC cycle count process partnering with U.S.
Partner with U.S. team to standardize processes and internal controls.
Establish robust controls over overhead and SG&A spending
· Cost Accounting
Responsible for maintaining standard costs, bill of material cost rolls, periodic full standard cost roll updates, PPV analysis, monthly journal entries, and labor & overhead analysis and reporting.
Partner in plant problem solving and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams as finance subject matter expert by providing manufacturing trouble shooting, ideation, support and analysis in such areas as process performance, line efficiency, OEE, scrap reduction, E&O reduction and control, inventory carrying cost, capital spending, inventory management, customer service objectives, production costing, and cost reduction.
Collaborate with Product Development, Sourcing, and Operations to build product costs that support customer quoting activities.
· Additional Responsibilities
Special Projects – Lead or assist special projects from time to time as part of the Corporate Finance team.
Response for human resources function, including hiring, payroll and benefits.
Responsible for overseeing the information technology function.
Ad Hoc analysis and other tasks as assigned.
