Chief Engineer

Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety
Structural aspects of the hotel as well as the maintenance of grounds and external facilities all fall within the span of responsibility.
Manage the engineering/maintenance/PPM/FPMM operations of the hotel to ensure safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members.
Follow brand standards and local regulatory requirements.
Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and maintaining “green” initiatives.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the efficient operation of the hotel property and all its equipment, ancillary maintenance and repair services and protection of the Owner’s asset.

Ensures that availability of Plant and Equipment is 100% at all times. If breakdowns occur, ensure that the necessary repair is carried out without delay.
Be aware of duty of care and adhere to work place health and safety related to local and IHG policies
Ensure that any tests and inspections required on plant by statutory authorities are carried out as and when required and that all records and documentation associated with such tests and surveys are correctly kept and/or displayed.
Demonstrate Awareness of IHG Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures, ensuring all procedures are conducted safely within PPE guidelines and that direct reports do the same
Be aware of property safety, first aid and fire emergency procedures; operate equipment safely
Provide advice to senior management on all aspects of maintenance support, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property.
Ensure that the hotel fulfils all compliance requirements.
Ensure the quality of all work completed by both employees and external contracted staff adheres to the standards of good engineering practice.
Maintain the condition of the physical assets of the hotel by carrying out any upgrading and projectwork in liaison with architects, interior designers and management.

At least 2 years experience at the same position, understand hotel system
Fluently in English
Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in technical or related field
Service and problem solving skills
Communication skills and focus to details
Energetic, enthusiastic and has a team spirit, able to work with owner side
