About the Department
The Wholesale Banking function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier- provider of banking services and solutions for Asia- based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.
Overview of the Role
Lead a team of Relationship Managers to drive origination and growth of lending and cross- sell opportunities for mid- sized corporates and above. The role involves structuring credit facilities, managing credit risk, and delivering holistic banking solutions including FX, corporate wealth, and capital markets products. The Team Leader will ensure achievement of revenue, asset, and liability targets while maintaining strong credit discipline and customer engagement.
Job Responsibilities
Business Development & Origination
• Develop tailored financing solutions, including bilateral and syndicated loans, cross- border/offshore structures, and specialized financing (e.g., M&A, asset securitization).
• Identify and acquire new corporate customers within the mid- sized and large corporate segments.
• Cross- sell FX, corporate wealth, and other treasury products to deepen client relationships.
Credit Structuring & Risk Management
• Engage Credit Approvers to address and mitigate identified risks, ensuring alignment with bank’s risk appetite.
• Monitor credit health and repayment ability of customers, proactively managing early warning signals.
• Work closely with Credit Analysts to prepare comprehensive credit submission memos.
Team Leadership & Coaching
• Lead and manage a team of 2–4 Relationship Managers to achieve KPIs for revenue, assets, and liabilities.
• Foster collaboration across internal teams (Credit, Treasury, Operations) to deliver seamless client experience.
• Provide coaching and guidance to team members on client engagement, deal structuring, and stakeholder management.
Capital Markets & Strategic Transactions
• Ideally, bring experience in handling M&A transactions and related financing structures.
• Support clients in raising funds through capital markets, including debt syndication and securitization.
