Control & Metering Trainee Engineer

NAMCONSON PIPELINE CO. (NCSP) seeks to fill in the position of CONTROL & METERING TRAINEE ENGINEER for Vietnamese Nationals, working in Ba Ria, Vung Tau. Individuals with the qualified credentials and high degree of motivation are welcomed to apply.

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide engineering support, front line maintenance and responsible for maintain the technical integrity in the area of control system and metering at Dinh Co Gas Processing Terminal. All duties will be performed in accordance with the NCSP business policies and procedures
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provides front line maintenance support to the daily operations in the area of Control system & metering (Process control system, data communication system, emergency shutdown system, fire and gas system, local based control system, analyser equipment and metering systems)
- Assists control system & metering engineers for technical integrity of control & metering systems of NCSP facilities.
- Provides control & metering systems engineering support to the daily operations and maintenance activities.
WORK TASKS:
- Evaluates suitability of equipment vendors/suppliers, spare requirements and optimizes spares inventory.
- Ensures the Control System Security procedure is strictly applied.
- Prepares and reviews control system and metering discipline modification design work packages.
- Reviews & initiates for approval all configuration change request to control and metering systems.
- Reviews, updates Preventive Maintenance Routines (PMRs).
- Works closely with Production Support Technicians, Instrument Technicians, Control System & Metering Engineers as well as equipment manufacturers/vendors to troubleshoot control system and metering equipment problems.
- Participates in planned shutdown activities as required. Prepares shutdown workpacks and implement the shutdown works.
- Assists maintenance & control room technicians during preventive maintenance testing of field instrumentation devices.
- Works with Production support technician to carry out Preventive Maintenance Routines (PMRs) related to control systems discipline.
- Ensures Control system & metering application software backup is maintained & updated.
- Provides support for maintenance management system (Maximo) as necessary.
- Identifies areas for improvement in the control & metering systems.
- Assists Control System & Metering Engineers to carry-out equipment root cause failure analysis.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

- English language skills: pre-intermediate level
- Careful, pleasant, honest, dynamic.
- Computer literate, specifically MS.Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Auto Cad and ability to quickly learn proprietary computer applications.
- Good numerical skills.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Fresh graduation or 1 to 2 year working experience in mechatronics, instrumentation, control or automation engineering
- Basic understanding of Oil and Gas processing and maintenance
- Solid background in mechatronics, instrumentation, control or automation engineering

- Ensuring the highest availability and reliability of control/ metering equipment and systems.
- Urgent work implementation, at non-office hours period

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Educational background: Engineer’s Degree in Mechatronics/Automation
- Other trainings: Control system, Process control training
- Experience (year and nature): Fresh graduation or 1 to 2 year working experience in Oil and Gas industry
