POSITION SUMMARY
The Water/ Waste Water Treatment Operator performs the proper operation of the equipment related to the treatment of demineralized, raw and various waste water streams associated with the operation of a coal power plant in accordance with facility procedures and policies. During his shift, the Water/ Waste Water Treatment Operator also tours designated areas in the plant to inspect equipment and record operating parameters. The Water/ Waste Water Treatment Operator reports to, and takes direction from, the Operation Shift Leader on his shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Report all equipment maintenance requirements to the Control Room Operator.
- Observes reports, troubleshoots, and correct situations that are likely to develop into operational problems or safety hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Control Room Operator and Operation Shift Leader.
- Perform safe and efficient operation of the water treatment systems, taking direction from the CRO, Chemical supervisor, and Operation shift leader.
- Perform start- up, operation, and shutdown of equipment and systems related to the production of demineralized water required for supercritical steam plant operation and the treatment facilities for raw, gypsum and other waste water streams, in accordance with approved plant procedures and as directed by the Operation shift leader, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regard for the protection of the environment.
- Monitor and record local operating parameters and make adjustment to maintain safe and efficient operation.
- Participate in scheduled safety meetings and training.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prefer a completion certificate of training course related to Super or Ultra critical coal power plant operation.
- At least 3 years of experience working as an equipment operator in an industrial environment required. Water treatment experience a plus.
- Upper beginner level communication skills in the English language (written and verbal). Able to response using basic grammar & vocabularies.
