Digital DBA Expert (Database/MySQL/AWS)

Job Purpose *

This position plays a key role in CIMB Vietnam IT Department as an expert in database technology. This role main purpose is to keep updated with the latest database technology and apply to CIMB Vietnam systems to ensure the high efficiency of existing databases, analyse and foresee any potential issues and provide immediate and prompt solutions for database problems if happening.

Key Responsibilities  *

Monitoring:

- Managing and monitoring database for user access and security.

- Performance monitoring and managing database setting parameters to provide fast responses

- Further refining the database design to meet system storage requirements.

- Maintaining data standards.

- Controlling access permissions and privileges.

- Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly, database high availability for Test environment, production environment

Setting:

- Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).

Designing:

- Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans.

Qualifications (Basic Degree/Diploma etc): Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science/MIS/BIS or related.

Relevant Work Experience: 

•          Minimum 3 years of working experience in Database Administration/Monitoring job

•          Experiences in Banking is a plus but not required

Competencies/Skills (Essential to succeed in this job):

Mandatory Skills:

- Administration of MySQL Enterprise

- Experience installing, configuring MySQL database replication.

- Knowledge of logical and physical data modelling

- Critical Thinking, Logical Thinking and Analyzing skill are required.

Desirable Skills:

- Writing TSQL scripts and objects such as stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, indexes per business requirements.

- Familiarity with Windows and Linux

- Familiarity with Setting up database high availibility, DR Database for MySQL

- Administration of MySQL database services in AWS/Azure

- Has experience in Java/.Net technology is an advantage

- Experience with DevOps is an advantage

- Good communication in English
