Direct Material Purchasing Manager (Hai Phong)

In close collaboration with the functional departments, you will create purchasing strategies for your area of responsibility as a purchasing manager in direct material purchasing (e.g. R&D product development and technical development, business units and tesa plants). To translate stakeholder expectations into the appropriate sourcing efforts, this calls for ongoing study of spend, future demands, and market evolution. You are aware of how to offer value for Tesla. Your particular duties consist of:
• Identification and implementation of optimization potentials within the monitored expenditure categories and projects, such as polymer films, -fabric and -foams, adhesive components, chemical derivatives.
• Comprehensive project management is required for the purchasing component of the corresponding projects, and this includes finding potential suppliers, negotiating, nominating, and developing suppliers in accordance with the requirement profile, as well as monitoring and ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures across the entire project and project team.
• Establishing the appropriate measurements and project objectives, as well as building supplier and supplier portfolios in close collaboration with global users and stakeholders
• Active and self-driven further development of purchasing strategies in your area of responsibility.
• Execution of domestic and international procurement initiatives, including contract and price negotiations and contract administration.

• Actively supporting the global procurement network with regards to process & system improvements to strengthen the overall procurement process reliability and performance

You will contribute to enhancing and growing the collaboration between the functional departments and purchasing thanks to your excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Minimum of five years, preferably ten years, of relevant work experience; preferably in project purchasing and/or category management

• Cross-functional and multinational project experience
• Must travel globally and primarily to Asia
• Excellent written and spoken English
• In-depth understanding of contract law, administration, and compliance
