Administration
• Reviews reservations and ensures occupancy targets are being achieved and exceeded
• Develops, implements, maximises, monitors and evaluates the hotel’s Sales Strategy (goals, tactics and actions) to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue figures.
• Ensures Sales activities are aligned with the sale Strategy and Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate.
• Ensures active presence and updated room rates are available online.
• Reviews sales files and systems to ensure correct booking procedures, including group room and meeting programme history, contractual agreements, room block analysis, credit and payment documents, etc.
Customer Service
• Handles all business and leisure groups and provides excellent services to meeting planner and meeting guests.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
• Ensures that all associates are provided with the skills necessary to “sell” the hotel and upsell where possible.
• Assists with Host duties as requested and required due to operational needs
• Maintains positive guest and associate interactions with good working relationships.
Financial
• Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information
• Assists with the preparation of the Business Plan, Sales budget and forecasts.
• Maximises employee productivity through the use of multi- skilling, multi- tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
• Strategically analyses business performance to facilitate accurate and meaningful forecasting.
• Proactively manages all the sales resources and funds, and controls departmental costs.
Marketing
• Constantly monitors and evaluates local and the competitor hotels’ sales initiatives, in order to make sure the hotel’s sales remain competitive and cutting edge.
• Manages all accounts and groups, evaluates them based on sales account analysis and develops strategies for pricing, inventory, keeping the General Manager updated at all times.
• Manages all the hotel sales brand contacts, enforces and maintains the hotel’s brand positioning and concept, agreed upon in the hotel’s Annual Business Plan.
• Actively participates in yield and strategic meetings, developing and adjusting sales and pricing strategy.
• Manage all sales strategy, tactics, and action implementations, in order to create a strong and disciplined hotel wide team that achieves set sales goals.
Personnel
• Ensures the punctuality and appearance of all Sales employees, making sure they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.
• Assists in the recruitment and selection of all Sales employees; follows hotel guidelines when recruiting and uses a competency- based approach to selecting employees.
