- As a result of evidence from market research, takes responsibility for the development of new product and guest services in all revenue earning departments, consistent with the goal of exceeding guest expectations.
- Participates in the preparation of the Strategic Business and Operating Plans.
- Analyzes the activities of competitor hotels, including their customer base, with the aim of developing and securing new business and providing a market advantage.
- Coordinates with Manger Revenue Management provide timely and relevant information on hotel trends, to enable the Executive Committee to make pro- active decisions to improve the profitability of the hotel.
- Ensures all Sales Managers maintain clear and detailed files on all clients including information on results of each sales call.
- Management of all Sales and administration employees, ensuring they are working towards achieving the hotels revenue budget for the existing and future years.
- Forecasts, controls and reviews expenditures in accordance with Hotel procedures.
- Manager a personal account base of the hotels top accounts
- Identifies, evaluate and secure appropriate sponsorships that generate exposure for Hotel and assist in the development of revenues and image.
- Shares in the establishment of revenue targets for the annual hotel Business Plan for rooms, F&B and minor operating departments.
- Develops and actions a comprehensive promotional schedule addressing revenue and image development activities.
- Installs and maintains yield management techniques in rooms reservations.
- Ensures the effective use of up to date technology in the sales arena. This will encompass but not be limited to the full and extensive use databases to ensure ease of access to information to Sales and Reservations employee.
- Participates in developing and reviewing rate structures and conditions applicable to various segments, based on market feedback and market conditions.
- Directs the activities of the internal employees outside agencies on public relations, advertising and direct sales & marketing campaigns. Supervise the quality and standard of all sales promotional aids, collaterals and merchandising items.
- Undertakes to arrange familiarization for any clients who have good potential to produce business.
- Provides a professional, advisory and executive support service to the General Manager to assist in meeting the strategic goals of the establishment.
- As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events, within the hotel, the industry and customer organizations.
- On an ongoing basis, develops and implements a comprehensive plan of action that addresses:
+ Collateral and display materials
+ Advertising radio, press, magazine and TV in all market areas as required.
+ Public Relations – local, regional, national
+ Direct marketing mail campaigns
- Ensures that all employees comply with the grooming and uniform standards.
- Participates in the Hotel “Manager on Duty” program.
- Prepares monthly outlook/forecast reports.
- Conducts development and performance reviews, identifying key personnel for further development and structured career patching.
- Conducts regular employee meetings to keep all employees informed.
- Implements and maintains training systems to ensure that employees have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively.
- Prepares work schedules and annual leave schedules within budget, business expectations and guidelines of the appropriate industrial legislation.
- Oversees the selection and appointment of new employees within the department.
