Position EHS (Environement, Health and Safety) Specialist
Direct Leader HR Manager
The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves conducting risk assessments, training employees, and ensuring that all safety policies and procedures are followed. Key Responsibilities:
EHS Program Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs and policies.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of EHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop preventive measures.
Training and Education:
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with training requirements.
- Ensure employees are informed of and adhere to EHS policies and procedures.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
Environmental Management:
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact.
- Monitor and manage environmental compliance, including waste management, air quality, and water quality.
Health and Safety Management:
- Promote a culture of safety and health within the organization.
- Implement ergonomic programs to reduce workplace injuries.
- Manage occupational health programs, including hearing conservation and respiratory protection.
Emergency Response:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Serve as the point of contact for emergency response activities.
- Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training.
