Report to: Project Manager (PM)
Job Purpose: Plan and design the electrical equipment and facilities of the plant in accordance with the contract documents, applicable laws, regulations, and standards of the project. Assist procurement and site construction works of the equipment and facilities. Assist and/or conduct fabrication, construction, pre- commissioning and commissioning activities for the electrical equipment and facilities at site.

Electrical equipment and facilities
Medium voltage (22kV) power receiving/distribution facility, low voltage power receiving/distribution facility, Motor Control Center (MCC), transformer, emergency power generator, Uninterruptable Power Supply Unit (UPS), DC power supply unit, capacitor bank, plant lighting system, grounding and lightening protection system, fire alarm system, plant paging system, etc.
Electrical construction work
Monitor and Control Design Engineering Work
Monitor and control the schedule and delivery of vendors.
Manage and control design engineering work schedule, document list, and allocated budget.
Planning & Design Engineering Work
Prepare and review electrical engineering deliverables such as equipment list, layout, one line diagram, specification, and calculation according to the regulation , code and standard.
Prepare material requisitions for purchasing equipment and systems. Conduct bid analysis (technical, scope of work) of vendors’ quotations. Review and approve vendor documents, fabrication/installation procedures, factory inspection procedures, pre- commissioning/commissioning procedures, operation manuals, etc. When so requested, attend the factory inspections and check such factory inspection items as quality, performance, dimensions, paint, quantities, etc. Prepare material requisitions for spare parts, consumables, special tools, etc.
Revise material requisitions as necessary and prepare revised design documents for change order adjustments to vendors.
In case of any malfunctions or problems, investigate the cause, make plans and implement countermeasures, and issue a nonconformance report.
Coordinate interface with other design group (process, mechanical, piping, furnace, boiler, instrumentation, civil, building, etc.).
Prepare pre- commissioning procedures and commissioning procedures of each equipment/system at site, and assist and/or conduct pre- commissioning and commissioning activities.
Prepare and/or compile operation manuals of the equipment and systems.
Design Works for Electrical Construction Work
Plan and design the electrical construction works.
Lead the designers and prepare the following drawings;
- Wiring diagram for plant loads and cabling route drawings.
- Wiring diagrams for fire alarm system, and plant paging system
- Cable connection list, installation detail drawings, and support drawings.
- Plant lighting plot plan/wiring drawings, and grounding wiring drawings.
- Above/underground cable route plan, and cabling plans for trenches, ducts, trays and conduits.
Prepare RFQ for electrical construction work. Evaluate electrical construction sub- contractors’ quotations (technical, scope of work), and assist to decide the sub- contractor. Prepare electrical construction specifications and electrical bill of quantity/bill of material lists attached to the RFQ.
Lead the construction subcontractors according to the plan.
Prepare pre- commissioning procedures for the electrical construction works for Mechanical Completion (MC) of the project, when so requested, assist the pre- commissioning work for electrical construction work.
Matter Worthy of Special Mention
When the construction stage begins, be involved in construction under the Site Manager.
This project is a three- company consortium (Engineering: MPS, Civil engineering and construction: Penta- Ocean Construction (POC), and Mechanical equipment/plant electrical equipment: JFEE), we will closely collaborate with partner companies.
