Project Oversight
Establish and uphold processes and documentation standards to ensure quality
Work closely with Money Forward Group and key stakeholders to gather and document needs, define user stories, estimate timelines, and plan delivery
Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications
Ensure adherence to processes and timelines for project delivery
Monitor and mitigate risks or obstacles that may impact deadlines
Guide teams to deliver iterative project outcomes successfully
Team & Department Leadership
Manage a department of over 30 engineering professionals
Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning
Define team objectives and provide direction and mentorship
Lead multiple teams to foster collaboration and efficiency
Talent Development
Create a long- term vision and career path aligned with business goals
Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent
Facilitate training initiatives to enhance technical capabilities
Provide coaching and career development support
Strategic Alignment
Collaborate with cross- functional teams to drive execution
Ensure engineering strategies support the company’s overarching mission
Lead initiatives that promote innovation and successful project delivery
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with internal stakeholders (product, business, etc.) to align technical work with business needs
Maintain transparent and effective communication on progress, risks, and opportunities
Operational Efficiency
Optimize engineering processes and improve methodologies for greater productivity
Champion best practices and standards across the engineering function
Monitor project performance, ensuring timely and efficient execution
Enhance technical interview and onboarding experiences
Qualifications
Must- Have:
Proficiency in English
Background in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Information Systems
Proven experience in the Banking domain
Proven leadership of engineering teams of 20+ members
4+ years in people and stakeholder management
Experience in risk mitigation and strategic planning
Commitment to inclusive leadership and fostering diversity
Strong relationship- building skills across teams and stakeholders
Strong adaptability in complex and evolving environments
10+ years of experience in web project or product development
Preferred:
Experience in senior technical leadership roles (e.g., VP of Engineering, Head of Delivery, CTO)
Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1/N2) is a major advantage
Certifications like PMP, PgMP, CSM, or PMI- ACP
