• Maintain and continuously improve the site&039;s regulatory compliance assurance process in partnership with organizational functional teams. Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
• Drive site compliance of Safety and Environmental regulations, standards, and management systems through communication, escalation, and effective EHS management system
• Participate in audits of site operations to assess full implementation of requirements, including surveillance, self-assessment process, annual program reviews, and corporate EHS audits.
• Collaborate with regional/global team to share best practices and gain feedback on approaches
• Analyze and Quantify risks and guide others through the development of solutions and programs that mitigate EHS risks, providing feedback and expertise, defining tools and criteria for risk assessment; identifying when uncontrolled risk should be escalated and take appropriate actions either internally or externally.
• Secure and allocate resources and budget for EHS programs
• Recommend relevant control measures, and assist/coordinate area/process owner with implementation of risk control measures
• Manage security of company
• Ensure a site level EHS Management system is developed, documented, and implemented.
• Successfully integrate EHS processes with operations and business segment enterprises to ensure compliance and sustainable EHS performance.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Drive critical EHS improvement programs and clearly and concisely communicate program progress and resource needs to functional, business and site Leadership.
• Validate effectiveness of incident prevention and risk control measures, escalate when necessary (monitor and measure)
• Collaborate with other functions to develop the site’s emergency response plan
• Manage external third party audits and inspections including customer, regulatory agencies, insurance companies and other non-governmental organizations
• Drive to establish effective incident management practices (investigation, implementation of corrective actions, trend analysis, communication, etc.) including establish a process to prevent “under reporting” (non-reporting of incidents)
• Partner with operational team to work out technical solution to achieve maximum productivity based on safe working conditions
• Leverage, team with, and facilitate the broader EHS functional organization and technical expertise to minimize EHS risk, complete required EHS tasks, meet deadlines, and continuously drive EHS performance improvements.
• Ensure processes are in place to create and maintain site specific EHS procedures as required by regulatory, client standards, and business targets. Drive consistent implementation of and adherence to policies and procedures as well as strategies to increase employee involvement and engagement in EHS excellence.
