Equipment Manger/ Head Mechanic

(I) Major Duties/Responsibilities
This position is responsible for all BRG golf course construction and maintenance related equipment in all BRG golf developments and operations.
Responsible for operating an efficient and streamlined department for the care of all golf construction and maintenance equipment by developing maintenance and purchasing programs for all BRG Golf Projects and Courses , maintaining inventory, and coordinating product & parts receiving , equipment rotations, maintenance, reel sharpening and care standards .
Recruits, trains & supervises all staff required for maintenance guide lines for all golf course related construction and maintenance equipment.
Development of spare parts purchasing programs through selected vendors using strict inventory controls to minimize expenditure whilst providing optimum equipment performance .
Coordinates equipment centralization strategies for effective utilization maximizing cost control and efficiency.
Implements and controls all equipment record keeping including daily logs, parts use and individual equipment history records. Plans, organizes, and directs the sharpening and grinding of reels and rotary blades for all BRG golf facilities. Provides recommendations for equipment rotation & replacement programs to DOGCCD.
Oversees all Golf Course workshops and provides training to mechanics, benchmarks maintenance standards for all construction and maintenance equipment & workshops
Other tasks as reasonably requested by the DOGCCD.

Professional Qualification: One of; Diesel, Motor Mechanic or Small Engine related qualification including specific training on Reel sharpening and maintenance from Golf Equipment/Grinding manufactures , or related field.
Personal Characteristics
Experience: Ten plus years of golf course maintenance equipment experience at least six of which should have been spent as a workshop manager in golf maintenance equipment including spare parts and inventory management.
Education: Trade Qualification
Strong management & reporting ability
Skill in staff training and coordination, workshop set up , and in creating effective working relationships with staff and vendors.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to cope with strict deadlines and time demands.
Knowledge of the principles of diesel & small engine and reel maintenance care including grinding equipment use and inventory ordering & control.
