JOB DESCRIPTION
Curriculum research & development:
Map the subject’s curriculum to ensure the consistency between standards, unit outcomes & lesson outcomes; and the consistency between learning objectives, instruction & assessment
Develop comprehensive ESL curriculum tailored to the needs of kindergarten- aged students
Lead the designing and/or the selection of both offline and online learning materials for students within and out of school time to support the attainment of learning objectives
Review curriculum implementation and evaluate the effectiveness of the ESL program to continuously make adjustments and improve the curriculum
Develop and frequently update an inventory of curriculum development resources including professional periodicals, bulletins, books, journals, research papers and other materials
Research and develop age- appropriate teaching strategies and materials (sample lesson plans, sample instructional activities, sample student handouts, etc.) to enhance learning experience and promote language acquisition and proficiency
Curriculum implementation support:
Provide School Managers, Heads of subjects, and Teachers with system- wide training on curriculum implementation (introductory courses about the subject and the program, curriculum monitoring courses, curriculum- related professional development courses, etc.)
Provide School Managers and Heads of subject with guidance on how to discover and solve problems related to curriculum implementation in practice
Provide constructive feedback to teachers to enhance teaching practices through observation or review of their lesson plans
Facilitate professional development opportunities for ESL staff to improve their instructional skills.
Create action plans to improve teachers’ performance in delivering the curriculum and work with School Managers to monitor their progress
Create and periodically update the library of professional learning resources including best practices in teaching and learning, case studies, expertise in the subject, etc.
Curriculum implementation management:
Conduct regular classroom observations in order to collect data on the implementation of curriculum and the use of appropriate instructional strategies
Make monthly reports to School Managers and the CEO about the subject’s teaching and learning quality and propose solutions
Create and lead the QA- QC plan to ensure the consistent and progressive quality control of the program at schools
Review classroom observation rubrics on a regular basis
Evaluate the efficiency of Key ESL Teachers and/or campus- level coordinators
Analyze curriculum implementation’s impact on students’ learning outcomes and propose solutions; update curriculum implementation plan (if necessary) after each semester
Design assessments and provide guidance on how to measure ESL students&039; language proficiency and progress
Curriculum- related operations:
Review the curriculum- related action plan of individual schools
Review the student evaluation and stage placement results of individual schools
Create yearly curriculum implementation action plan and update it monthly
Write and distribute high- quality documents that provide teachers and parents with important information about both the School’s curriculum and instructional program
Support schools in teacher recruitment and teacher assignment
Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Academic Directors and the CEO
Work closely with community resources and external partners to enhance the ESL program and support student learning
REQUIREMENTS
Prefer candidates who have experience in implementing and managing ESL programs in a kindergarten setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of language acquisition theory and best practices in ESL instruction
Profound knowledge of the subject curriculum and good knowledge of Vietnamese young learners
Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning resources.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem- solving.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field
Critical thinking; good research and analytical skills; sharp mindedness
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders.
Experience in coordinating work between parties in a high- pressure working environment
A good command of English (IELTS 7.0 or above; or other international English certificates equivalent to C1 level or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
Prefer candidates with experience in curriculum mapping and implementation of educational program
