As Executive Director, you will be in charge of overseeing the HCMC & Da Nang chapter’s strategic vision, managing its daily business operations, and carrying out our mission in accordance with the strategic direction of the Boards of Governors for HCMC and Da Nang.
Our Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) & Da Nang chapter accounts for approximately 600 members across businesses and individuals spanning a wide range of industries. We welcome American, Vietnamese and global members looking to positively impact Vietnam’s business environment by proactively innovating and leading partnerships to advance shared interests in an enduring, solidary, and sustainable way.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam) is one of the largest and most influential business organizations in Vietnam, with the mission of promoting trade and investment between the United States and Vietnam, and serving as the “voice of American business in Vietnam”.
Objectives
Drive membership growth, including premium and corporate memberships.
Effectively execute Chamber programs, events, and services aligned with member interests.
Strengthen the prominence, organizational capabilities, financial management, and corporate governance of AmCham HCMC & Da Nang to represent member interests effectively.
Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively with all Chapters to ensure a single, coordinated voice for AmCham Vietnam
Serve as AmCham HCMC & Da Nang’s representative and participate in events to increase outreach, while developing strategic partnerships to further increase awareness and expand programs and services
Work with staff and the Boards to oversee annual advocacy efforts, developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, coordinating sectorial Committee efforts, and supervising all communications including position papers, statements, interviews, website content, newsletters, and social media
Build, lead, develop, and empower an effective team dedicated to fulfilling AmCham’s mission and vision, strengthening organizational capabilities in partnership with the Boards
Meet annual membership objectives in partnership with the Boards, by driving recruitment, engagement, and retention of new and existing members
Lead annual strategy sessions in collaboration with the HCMC and Da Nang Boards of Governors to identify priorities, goals, and objectives; and develop business plans to achieve them
Skills & Qualifications
Highly fluent or native English communication skills and experience with public speaking
Solid orientation to service and strong personal integrity
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
Experience managing budgets, programs, marketing, and member services in fast- paced environments
Proven success working with boards of directors or governors, preferably in multi- cultural environments, is desirable
Strong experience in public policy, public relations, fundraising and membership.
A minimum of ten years of experience in senior management leading multinational corporations (MNCs), non- profit businesses, or governmental or non- governmental organizations
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
American citizen
Prior exposure to AmCham Vietnam
Vietnamese language skills
Experience living and working in Vietnam (pre- existing resident status desired)
