Full Stack Software Developer (Java/Kotlin/MongoDB)

You will be responsible for developing high- quality secure code, high systems availability, and ensuring the applications can scale according to the needs of the business. Part of this role requires that you be familiar with Helm and Kubernetes concepts to deploy the ever- growing list of microservices using GitOps methodologies. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to keep up to date with the latest technology trends and offer senior guidance to the team to solve business problems.
Our client is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer for their rapidly growing business and engineering team. In this role, you will be part of a team that strives to write clean code and use the latest and greatest tools available wherever possible. The team you will be joining works on supporting the business by ingesting and processing various datasets using a Java/Kotlin backend supported by Spring Framework, Apache Spark, Reactive Systems, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Apache Kafka running on Kubernetes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work closely with management and product owners to ensure projects are on track
Help other engineers solve complex problems
Work closely with QA Engineers and ensure quality control is maintained throughout the development lifecycle
Ensure production environments are properly monitored and healthy
Analyze business requirements, provide development estimates, and provide feedback to business
Inspect code from junior developers
Write code primarily in Kotlin and occasionally in Java using Spring Framework

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with CI/CD processes (preferably Bitbucket Pipelines, Gitlab CI, or GitHub Actions)
Experience with Helm charts is optional but is an advantage
Working knowledge of Docker/containers
Ability to work independently and collaborate well with architects, developers, DevOps, and product owners
Self- motivated and highly organized, analytical, and result- oriented
Experience with AWS or other Cloud services
Desire to continuously learn
Bachelor’s degree in computer science
Experience with Spring Framework, Kubernetes, and Apache Kafka
Ability to practice egoless programming
5+ years of experience in software development
