The Future Leader- Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics operations of an automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This includes managing the shipping of components internationally, coordinating factory logistics requirements, implementing smart material handling solutions such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and overseeing material flow and production planning using manufacturing execution systems (MES).
* Responsible for leading the team to ensure that department goals are met and exceeded across all areas: safety, human resources, quality, and cost- optimization initiatives.
* Ensure all Programs must meet the 3 evaluation criteria of successful vehicle release: on time, good quality and meet all financial targets.
* Select appropriate training for logistics department and developing human resources to ensure efficient operation and achievement of the team KPI and company&039;s targets, empowering and supporting the team including removing obstacles to improve the working environment.
*Setting up of logistics operations, team, standards and strategy for the complete automotive facility.
* Develop a robust Supplier Diversity program and a roadmap for activities over the coming years and implement best practices. Partner with new organizations that will provide us access to the resources to identify diverse suppliers. Provide supplier diversity reporting on a recurring basis.
* Responsible for setting up, negotiating and operating the logistics activities related to import- export, inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing covering the receipt, storage and transportation of all goods (parts, finished goods, spare parts) as requested by manufacturing.
* Responsible for setting up complete facility part workflow, material handling including AGV technology, plant warehousing and storage planning, packaging and pallet requirements.
* Responsible for set up and operation of the network of warehouses, inbound and outbound transportation as well as other functions of logistics to ensure quality service provision meeting company manufacturing and sale needs. This includes, but not limited to 3PL selection and management, warehouse infrastructure and internal- plant material flow set up, system and data management, personnel organization, and related processes.
* Responsible for MIFC for all areas from goods in to finished product delivery.
* Manage and optimize procurement systems across the organization to increase efficiencies. Develop new methods of improving efficiency in the procurement process. Develop and implement policies and ensure compliance. Works closely with Finance to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
* As the partner providing logistic services for manufacturing/operations, sales, Quality, and other functional departments within the Company.
* Develop and maintain procurement metrics (performance indicators, benchmarking, SLAs) in collaboration with Sourcing and other stakeholders. Provide procurement reporting on a recurring basis.
* Develop part flow diagrams, container and pallet packaging.
* Responsible to develop a best in class spend analytics tool and the ability to refresh and report on our data on a monthly/quarterly basis. Will also be responsible to develop, implement and maintain a savings tracking tool for all Procurement related projects and will work closely with Finance to validate these initiatives. Oversees development of and updates to department and stakeholder training materials and communication programs.
* Key stakeholder in ERP and MES plant development and implementation to maintain adequate stock and inventory, as well as inventory accuracy.
