Responsibilities:
Server Development & Architecture
Architect scalable and maintainable server infrastructure to support thousands of concurrent players.
Build high- performance game services to handle gameplay logic, player state synchronization, and server- side mechanics.
Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for real- time multiplayer or UGC- based games.
Networking & Performance Optimization
Monitor and optimize server performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Implement anti- cheat mechanisms, game state control, and server security features.
Manage client- server communication via WebSocket/HTTP; optimize bandwidth and latency.
Infrastructure & Deployment
Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure stable server operation.
Deploy backend systems on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) using containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Manage game databases (SQL/NoSQL); handle persistent player data and game states.
Collaboration & Mentorship
Work closely with game designers, client developers, and QA teams to ensure smooth and synchronized gameplay experiences.
Provide technical support and mentorship to junior developers.
Recommend and drive improvements in technical architecture and development workflows.
Required qualifications:
MUST HAVE:
Strong problem- solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, responsible attitude.
Good English skills, able to read and understand technical documentation and communicate in an international team.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
Proficient in one or more programming languages such as C++, C, Java, Go, or Node.js.
Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.
Experienced with Git and CI/CD workflows.
Minimum 5 years of hands- on experience developing backend systems for real- time multiplayer games.
Strong understanding of client- server architecture, protocol buffers, and socket programming.
Experienced with server frameworks or platforms like Photon, Nakama, PlayFab, SmartFox, or custom TCP/WebSocket servers.
NICE TO HAVE:
Shipped real- world multiplayer online games.
Experience with UGC platforms such as Roblox, Blockman GO, Mini World, etc.
Experience deploying backend systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture is a big plus.
