OVERALL JOB RESPONSIBILITYI

  • We are looking for an experienced General Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.
  • General Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful General Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
  • General Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.

KEY JOB DUTIES

1. Account Payable (AP)

  • Follow up with suppliers and work with other relevant departments to collect, check and verify gaps in contracts, invoices and other documents before filing in the system.
  • Review invoices and AP documents for satisfactory payment approval in compliance with VAS / IFRS, Tax regulations and the company policy.
  • Run AP report and prepare payment schedules weekly / bi-weekly.
  • Upload the payment to bank online with the approved payment schedule weekly / bi-weekly and clear payable accounts once finishing the payment.
  • Reconcile bank statements and prepare AP report at month end for closing purpose.

2. Account Receivable (AR)

  • Issue sales invoice for Customer, post sales invoice in the accounting system.
  • Clear AR accounts once receiving payment from customers.
  • Reconcile and prepare AR report at month end for closing purpose.

3. General Ledger (GL)

  • Check, allocate and book all GL transactions such as accruals, other cash / bank payments, receipts, fixed asset depreciation/disposal, Prepaid expense allocation, etc.
  • Liaise with HR Payroll to ensure that monthly payroll costs are correctly recorded. Post all payroll and associated transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare the monthly closing schedule to meet the set deadline.
  • Book inter-company transactions & prepare monthly / quarterly / annually reconciliation.
  • Do all monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliation.

4. Reporting and Compliance

  • Prepare and ensure all monthly / quarterly VAT, CIT reports, annual Financial Reports in compliance with tax regulations. Regularly reconcile book accounts with Tax Department and work with local tax office.
  • Liaise with tax authority, social insurance department and other relevant authorities when required.
  • Prepare audit process and work with auditors to complete audited financial reports when required.
  • Ensure accounting procedures are done in compliance with the company’s policies and government's regulation.
  • Support Chief Accountant in reviewing and recommending changes to existing accounting procedures and accounting system, both at Group and subsidiary level.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards to ensure both VAR / IFRS compliance.

5. Management accounting

  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status derived from Finance Information System (FIS).
  • Prepare monthly financial management reports according to company's templates.
  • Liaise with other teams / departments to obtain data from other business units to compare, combine with financial data and ensure all information gathered and variances explained in management report commentary.
  • Support CFO in budgeting and forecasting of P&L, BS and Cash Flow for group and subsidiaries.
  • Spot weakness in the control process and suggest ways to improve efficiency and minimize financial risks.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Educational level: Bachelor degree, majoring in Accounting.
  • Professional body: ACCA/CPA/CMA/CIMA designation is a plus.
  • Required work experience: at least 3 years in General Accountant roles. Good understanding of IFRS is a plus.
  • English level: proficient in English, both in writing and speaking.
  • Computer skills: have experience in Dynamic/SAP/Oracle and Good in excel.
  • Good presentation and documentation skills.
  • Experience in Tech Industry, Start-up is plus.
