WHAT YOU WILL DOFinancial analyst is responsible for the management reporting system, keeping track of the Company‘s financial plan. Analyzing the company’s performance, alongside changes and market trends, calculating the variances between those forecasts and actuals, tracking down and explaining the causes of the variances.
Specifically:
Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
Control management reporting system
Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials
Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad- hoc reports, tools.
Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is mentioned in virtually any financial analyst job description; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps
WHO YOU AREBasic Qualifications
Good business acumen
High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
3+ years of audit in Big4, or business finance, or other relevant experience
Strong analytical and data gathering skills
Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
Personality and Interpersonal Skills
Self- starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem- solving skills
Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow
Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently
Strong quantitative and analytical competency
