Our vision is to transform SSI into a data led organization by providing the tools and platforms to drive insights to enable informed strategy, investment and operational decision making.
Bringing together multiple teams across the business, the Data Governance, Engineering and Analytics team under the Digital Transformation Office has recently been formed with a mission to deliver on the vision.
To deliver SSI's data vision, we have identified new roles which will have significant influence and impact in shaping the future of SSI's data and analytics capabilities.
Ideal candidates can come from diverse backgrounds such as Financial Services, FMCG or Telco but must have knowledge and a understanding of how data is now the future of our business and its importance in providing businesses the competitive advantage.
Role Description - Head of Enterprise Data
The Head of Enterprise Data is a senior leader who has the skills to influence at multiple levels. This role has functional responsibilities that include Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Engineering and Analytics and Data Strategy.
Reporting to the Chief Digital and Transformation Officer, this role will be accountable for leading a enterprise wide data and analytics transformation that will shape, execute and drive data initiatives delivering on SSI's vision of becoming a data led organization.
Main responsibilities for this role are:
1. Leading the execution of the data strategy development and roadmap
2. Contribute and oversea the delivery of SSI's enterprise data and analytics platform in collaboration with the Chief Digital and Transformation Officer, Chief Information Officer and other heads of departments.
3. Lead and expand SSI's enterprise data and analytics offerings, especially in emerging analytical approaches, skills and technologies
4. Identify new kinds, types and sources of data to enable business innovation throughout SSI. Create and oversee a centralized service for sourcing external data to ensure quality, traceability, timeliness, usability and cost-effectiveness. Define processes for the effective, integrated introduction of new data.
5. Lead regulatory and compliance programs related to data and analytics assets
6. Lead data and analytics governance council to provide sponsorship and oversight of governance policy creation and compliance
7. Advocate and lead the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate would be someone who is already working in the field of data analytics or data management with aspirations to become a Chief Data Officer

Experience
• Ten or more years of business experience, ideally in business, technology or information management.
• Five or more years of experience in Data Delivery, Data Engineering and Analytics and or Data Governance
• Five or more years of team management and leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization
Knowledge and Skills
• Proven data skills and knowledge — The ability to describe business use cases and outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches and options. The ability to translate and tailor the to the languages used by executives (COO,CIO,CEO), business, IT and quant and research stakeholders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital and data concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists. The candidate should be able to “sell” ideas and processes internally at all levels, including the C-Levels
• Broad experience desired, but not essential, in multiple competency areas of data and analytics delivery. Examples are data warehousing, business intelligence (BI), data governance, data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, MDM, data standards, regulatory compliance and enterprise architecture frameworks
