Head of Investment (Life Insurance Project)

Report to: Chief Financial Officer
Job Purpose
The Head of Investment is responsible for overseeing and managing the investment portfolio of the life insurance company. This executive role involves developing and implementing investment strategies that align with the company&039;s financial objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements. The position requires a deep understanding of financial markets, asset management, and the unique investment needs of a life insurance entity.
Main Responsibilities
Investment Strategy Development
- Formulate and execute investment strategies that align with the company&039;s financial goals and policyholder obligations.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify investment opportunities and risks.
Portfolio Management
- Oversee the management of the company&039;s investment portfolio, ensuring optimal asset allocation and performance.
- Monitor portfolio performance and make adjustments as necessary to meet financial objectives.
Risk Management
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the company&039;s assets.
- Identify, assess, and manage investment risks in line with the company&039;s risk appetite and regulatory guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain up- to- date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting investment practices.
- Ensure all investment activities comply with local and international regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the investment team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate investment performance, strategies, and risks to senior management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present detailed investment reports and analyses.

Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are highly desirable.
- Bachelor&039;s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful investment strategies.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the insurance or financial services industry.
Skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- In- depth knowledge of investment principles, asset allocation, and portfolio management.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
