Position of R&D Manager plays a crucial role in researching product materials, coordinating with the Leadership Team to establish direction and strategy in researching and developing raw materials to serve design and product tasks, bringing benefits to the business and contributing to the company‘s development and elevation in the future. You will be responsible for the entire research and development area of Yody‘s raw materials and directly manage related issues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Planning
- Seek new ideas related to styles, materials used, raw materials, etc., to develop research and development plans for product materials according to the company‘s direction and strategy.
- Research fashion trends, customers, and the market.
- Plan the form structure and form development plan. Implement department activities
- Organize the reception, collection, and processing of product information from inside and outside the company to provide directions for product research and improvement.
- Plan work schedules for each team by year, season, and month for the department.
- Collect and coordinate with the design department to finalize raw materials seasonally, annually.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team, design department to establish the direction of product raw materials, strategic objectives, and thereby plan the development strategy and plan for fashion raw material development according to brand direction, market trends, and sustainability.
- Direct the development of seasonal raw materials for each product line.
- Structure the product lines by season in detail, including forms and materials.
Implementation
- Advise the leadership on fashion product material development strategies, promote access to user needs for the company‘s products.
- Seek, evaluate, develop new suppliers, set research targets by season/year.
- Solve other arising issues.
- Manage performance and develop the capacity of staff in the R&D department through task assignment, work process supervision, and organizing training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills for R&D staff.
- Establish and maintain process improvements as appropriate.
- Handle issues related to business processes, production processes.
- Establish information with sales. Monitor product feedback after market launch.
- Inform relevant departments about research, improvement, and development ideas for product materials to jointly agree on the most feasible and appropriate ideas.
- Coordinate with the design department to propose design ideas, select raw materials for design and product tasks.
- Directly implement, manage, and supervise the progress of the R&D department to ensure the company‘s set schedule and quality (in terms of raw material quality, quantity of new materials, product features, standard- compliant partners, etc.).
- Responsible for planning and developing new product materials as per company regulations.
- Monitor, analyze customer feedback on products through the company‘s sales channels.
- Research, search for materials, test new product samples to establish preliminary product standards or specifications.
Coordination, Support
- Coordinate with Design, Sales, and relevant departments on product material matters.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Training to convey product messages, product materials.
REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of textile materials, accessories.
- Have a sharp understanding of business and product design.
- Strong in managing and developing personnel.
- Understanding of the garment industry, materials, raw materials, design techniques, textile and garment.
- High authenticity in thinking, product materials.
- Attachment, inspiration, motivation, and culture- building.
- Able to communicate in English or Chinese.
- Ability to plan and implement plans.
WORKING TIME & LOCATIONS
- Time: Monday- Saturday weekly. From 8:00- 17:00. Lunch break 1 hour: 12:00- 13:00.
