Job context:
Damen Song Cam Shipyard is engineering, outfitting, commissioning and delivering various Damen standard ship types. Basic designs and most components are delivered to DSCS by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem. DSCS will complete the detailed design, and production information, which will be used during the assembly of the vessels.
The HSEQ Dept. monitors the processes within the organization in terms of quality, environment and health & safety management in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The department is responsible for the effectiveness of the various management systems and stimulates the process of continuous improvement of the organization.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:
Assist to setting up a quality policy for Damen Song Cam Shipyard. Supervising the implementation of IMS processes. Coordinating and implementing improvement projects.
HSEQ staff participate in the monitoring processes within the organization in terms of quality, environment and health & safety management in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Core activities including:
• Ensuring continual improvements.
• Setting up, monitoring and maintaining the QMS, EMS and OHSMS.
• Coordinating and guiding other depts. in operation of above systems in their depts.
• Implementation of the policy is in line with the organization.
• Review of audit results and effective implementation of the QMS, EMS and OHSMS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supporting role to formulate quality policy
- Assist to the process of setting up the quality, environment and health & safety policies in line with those established by the mother company in Holland which should contain the vision, method, and planning in regards to developing, preserving and improving existing management systems.
- Reporting in- and external trends and development on quality and environmental level and determining its consequences on the quality policy
• Policy implementation:
- Supervising the implementation and transferring of quality, environment and health & safety management procedures within the orginisation by advising and informing line- managers practical useful information
• Integrated Management System
- Assist to the process of setting up and supervising the quality, environment and health & safety management system.
- Reporting and keeping up with procedures in lines of ISO and in- and external quality norms.
- Analyzing data and spotting improvement opportunities for the improvement of effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
• Realised improvement projects
- Reporting progress/results with the supervisor and management group
- Initiating, coordinating and carrying out (improvement) projects that are required from Damen group development strategy related to quality, environment and health & safety.
• Coordinated department
- Maintaining contact with sister companies and related suppliers
- Together with Production Department in managing and correcting behaviours in regards to legal- and company safety and environmental obligations and procedures.
