* Main Responsibilities:
- Looking for an teacher to teach Information & Communication Technology (ICT) to middle school (MS) and high school (HS) students. At APU American International School (APU), it is the role of a secondary teacher to teach a class of up to 25 students depending on the grade level. Secondary students will be taught based on the California State Standards curriculum.

* Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using different methods such as observation, performance- based tasks or other standard test practices.
- Working collaboratively with other staff to ensure that suitable events and activities are prepared within a minimum disruption of normal schedule.
- Deliver dynamic and effective lessons to nurture students’ desire to learn ICT.
- Plan, coordinate and prepare activities for the school and community, and assist students with effective display and presentation of their works
- Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students.

- Monitor each student’s progress and keep the student and parents informed of progress.
- Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of disability, instructional level, English proficiency or level of interest in the subject.
- Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and achieving best practice in matters relating to student well- being and child safety by following APU policies and practices.
- Create an environment of active and genuine learning by employing a range of teaching strategies that meet the needs of all students.
- Participate in subject or area association meetings as appropriate and maintain relationships with professional associations. Actively pursue the development and improvement of your subject area by accessing and implementing up to date teaching methods and curriculum tools.
- Select appropriate repertoire and teaching materials to develop a creative approach to teaching and learning.
- Be available for any other duties as required within the level and scope of the position and familiarize with the school calendar of events, including but not limited to, class activities.

- Be a positive role model to students, parents, colleagues and the broader community of APU.
- Deliver high- quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of proven methods.
- Design and implement a comprehensive and appropriately sequenced learning program for students, reflecting current pedagogical practice.
- Achieve the learning goals through the content and structure of the curriculum and its methods of delivery.
- Monitor student’s attendance to make sure the absence is reported/communicated to the designated office on time.
- Develop, organize, and assist in the school’s co- curricular/after- school programs/extra- curricular activities when needed.
- Maintain professional standards of communication with staff, parents and students using appropriate channels.
- Conform with and uphold all policies and procedures of APU and take all reasonable care to ensure that any actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others in the school.
