Internship - GM Product Control

The Vietnam Internship Program (VIP) is designed for students who look for gain practical on-the-job experience during his or her graduation year or right after graduation. In this document, the final year students or recently graduated students are referred to as ‘Graduates’.

The objective of this program is to build suffice skills for graduates needed to embark on a successful career in banking. The program also aims to support on career opportunities for fresh graduates in the society where we operate.

Business description

Global Functions (GFs) play a vital role in supporting the bank’s Global Businesses and offer a broad range of career opportunities in areas from legal, risk and finance to human resources, sustainability, marketing and communications. Their operational and functional teams around the world help HSBC’s Global Businesses to operate efficiently and effectively on a day-to-day basis. They also focus on controls and governance to reduce risk and protect the Group’s reputation.

In this role, you will:

• To ensure timely and accurate preparation database for Daily GM P&L for GM Products.


• To ensure timely and accurate preparation of management information for local management and Group.


• To prepare the Local Regulatory reporting on daily/monthly/quarterly basis. Review returns against with the changes in the regulations to ensure full compliance.


• To ensure both HUB and TREATS systems reflect the agreed transfer pricing rates and all FX and Interest Risks (IR) transferred to GM at the agreed Transfer Pricing rates.


• To ensure that both FX and IR risk generated from retail and commercial banking activities are transferred to GM for effective market risk management.


• To ensure that Product Revaluation rates are sourced in-line with the approved product proposals and ensure these rates are maintained in TREATS system accurately. To obtain benchmark rates and prepare analysis to identify the best possible way of product revaluation.


• Handle voucher control and relevant journal booking from tax process, sales credit process monthly.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: 

• Bachelor/ Master Final-year students or Fresh graduates within less than 12 months of working experience


• Any majors will be accepted (Finance & Accounting, Banking, Business/ Marketing, Economics/ Statistics, Sociology, History, Languages, Information Technology etc...)


• Commitment to work full-time in minimum 03 months to 06 months


• Can-do attitude


• Eager to learn and eager to help


• Good communication and interpersonal skills are desirable


• Good command of English is a plus
