Java Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Java Backend Engineer (all genders) who loves to build top notch SAAS application delivering an outstanding user experience for Travelers, Meeting Planners and Hotel Partners.

HRS, a pioneer in business travel, aims to elevate every stay through innovative technology. With over 50 years of experience, their digital platform, driven by ProcureTech, TravelTech, and FinTech, transforms how companies and travelers Stay, Work, and Pay.TravelTech enables travelers to search and book hotel and meeting room content via modern SAAS booking portals and APIs. Our mission is to provide high quality content and an outstanding user experience to the traveler on the one side and compliance and cost savings for the cooperate travel programs on the other side.

CHALLENGES:

• Develop, implement and improve highly scalable application architecture based on AWS Cloud
• Collaborate across teams with regards to overarching technical concepts and practices
• Stabilize, perform improvement and refactor service layer and data model
• Write quality code and documentation, as well as develop and apply comprehensive test automation
• Leverage generative Al tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Code Whisperer, etc., to accelerate software delivery
• Experience building event- driven applications at scale on AWS is a plus
• Adding new feature capabilities to our platform
• Continuous improvement of the platform to identify and resolve bottlenecks in runtime and development aspects
• Employ best software engineerings best practices such as Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration- Continuous Delivery/Deployment

• Excellent knowledge of Java technologies and State- of- the- Art Frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot)
• Proficiency in English, spoken and written
• 3+ years of experience as a backend engineer in a production environment
• Ability to work in a team, fast learning and enthusiasm for the realization of innovative products
• Knowledge of and experience in working with agile methodologies
• Significant experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (Java, Scala, Python, SQL)
• Expertise in Backend engineering, distributed systems, databases, etc
• Experience deploying applications at scale with techniques like Infrastructure as Code, Canary or Blue- Green Deployments
• Strong understanding of core software engineering concepts and API design
