Job Summary:
The General Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the day- to- day financial operations of the resort, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting principles and resort policies. This role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, managing tax filings, and supporting the Finance Manager in budgeting and financial reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of management reports and financial analysis as required.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Account Reconciliation:
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other ledger accounts.
Ensure all financial data is accurate and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and other necessary adjustments.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file VAT, corporate income tax, and other relevant tax returns in accordance with local regulations.
Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as required.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
Monitor and report on budget variances, providing analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
Internal Controls:
Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial records and the safeguarding of the resort&039;s assets.
Audit Support:
Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
Cost Control:
Monitor and manage cost control initiatives, including inventory management, cost of goods sold, and operational expenses.
Collaborate with department heads to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the hospitality or resort industry.
Skills:
Language: Proficiency in Vietnamese and English is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
May require working extra hours during peak seasons or financial year- end periods.
Based at the resort with occasional travel to other locations as required.
