Job Summary –
To contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the Laundry Department within the RoomsDivision.
Essential duties and responsibilities – (Key activities)
Reports machinery that requires repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
Ensures that all company minimum brand standards have been implemented, and that optional brand standards have been implemented where appropriate.
Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Inspect and identifies linen items that require replacement.
Ensures all guest personal clothing and laundry items are labeled, count, sorted and check when receiving and before returning to the guest.
Ensure that machines and work are properly clean before and after work.
Provides a courteous and professional service at all times.
Reporting missing articles, damage or mechanical problems and turn in articles left in room to Laundry Supervisor.
Safe storage and use of laundry cleaning agents including correct cleaning agents and dilution used in correct quantities for each task.
Handles guest and associate enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst providing a prompt followup.
Responds to requests from guests, Supervisor or management in a timely and efficient manner.
Safely handle, transport clean linen and guest laundry as per guest instruction.
Work in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments.
Maintains linen cart and supplies neat and organized to department standards.
Washing, drying, folding, pressing, and sorting linen for the hotel linens and guest laundry.
Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Maintains security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day.
Works closely with other associates in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
