Supervise and inspect the work of laundry staff to ensure a high level of quality and productivity. Clean and store hotel linens/uniforms in a timely, organized manner to ensure that hotel’s laundry and linen needs are met.
YOUR DAY- TO- DAY
People
Train colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect
Conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues
Ensure consistency within the department
Direct/Manage everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
Solve employee grievances
Proactively greet, interact, and assist hotel & residences staff in a professional manner to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment, thank them when they lend assistance.
Recommend or initiate any HR related actions where needed
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
Direct task allocations and change according to volume and peak periods
Liaise with Housekeeping for guest and hotel requirements
Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive- linking up departments to create sense of one team
Financial
Help create the department’s annual budget and the setting of departmental goals
Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on cleaning liquids, chemical substance, equipment, and labour costs….
Operate smooth, efficient, cost effective operation; including labor management, supervision of all aspects of services and inventory control
Guest Experience
Prioritize VIP or difficult guests
Ensure laundry valet is processed carefully and packed & delivered in a timely manner as per Brand standards
Ensure quality check of finished linens , staff uniforms and guest laundry are done before delivery.
Perform quality inspections
Respond to and resolve guest and/or employee complaints in a timely manner and creatively solve problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties
Maintain adequate stock levels of Guest laundry collaterals , Laundry accessories and chemicals
Manage all special requests made by guests
Ensure linens from outside clients are picked up and delivered on time as per contract.
Responsible Business
Ensure adhering to company’s personal grooming standards.
Co- ordinate special projects (eg equipment routine service; stock inventories)
Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all laundry systems
Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.
Maintain stock levels
Oversee the implementation of laundry standards and procedures
Management of all incoming and outgoing calls to Laundry Department
Distribution and collection of keys
Complete stock takes as required
Assist in Laundry administration work such as laundry report , training reports , roster , updating reports of outside clients , bill posting etc
Recommended changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis
Assist coordinating with Engineering on repairs and maintenance of equipment.
Supervise laundry storage areas
Other ad- hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done
Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.
Assist during linen inventory.
May assist with other duties as assigned by management
Yêu cầu công việc
Education: High School or Diploma in Hotel Administration, Hotel Management or equivalent
Experience:
Type and level of experience required may vary slightly based on size and complexity of operation
2 years laundry experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity and including supervisory experience or training.
Knowledge and skills:
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company
Organizational and training abilities
Language:Able to speak, read and write English
