Lead Backend Software Engineer (PHP)

As a Senior PHP Software Engineer you will be working with our product managers and engineering teams to create the latest generation of our backend technology stack. Powering our marketplace for thousands of games a month.

This is a hands-on role. You will be required to demonstrate excellent Software engineering skills, actively propose solutions to problems, and work well with teams to define the best way to roll out and manage growing services with a focus on our full technology stack. You should be a quick learner and comfortable jumping into large technology stacks.

Our business and technology stack is financially focused and involves transacting and handling money on a daily basis. Previous experience working in a challenger bank, fintech company or a company that has dealt with financial ledgers, payments and escrow is highly valued.

This position is full-time, onsite in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

What you'll be doing

• Building large-scale applications with an OCD-level of attention to detail;
• Leveraging the latest technologies to get our applications and services closer to end-users and increasing our footprint; and
• Contributing to concept development and technical strategy.
• Managing deployment and uptime of our existing applications
• Writing reusable, testable and efficient code
• Working with our frontend and mobile developers to deliver APIs that power our business
• Providing security and data protection across our platforms
• Helping us scale our applications to support explosive user growth

Your Required Experience:

• Excellent back-end skills in dynamic languages;
• 4+ years PHP (or similar dynamic language) experience;
• 2+ years experience as a key member in a development team;
• Proficient with relational databases (MySQL); experience with Redis or Memcache is also valued highly
• Solid knowledge and application of OOP
• Experience with MVC frameworks (Laravel experience is highly valued)
• Familiarity with some form of Test Driven Development;
• Good English communication skills (i.e. listening, speaking, and writing).
• Experience in fintech, gaming, gambling or marketplaces is highly valued.
• Self-motivated and fast-moving
