Job description:

Apply testing methodologies, theories and processes to define and implement key metrics to manage and assess the testing process including test execution and defect resolution.
Lead and mentor a team of testers allocated to a client- funded or research & development project.
Implement automation and regression testing as required.
Identify test improvement opportunities within the existing systems and associated processes, test procedures and methods.
Manage the testing effort and/or team to plan, construct and execute release tests.
Ensure defects are entered correctly, controlled and managed as effectively as possible through the development and defect life cycle.
Identify and recommend areas for improvement in the testing and development activities.
Apply business and functional knowledge to meet the teams&039; overall test purposes.
Ensure adherence to testing methodologies and QC principles set across the organization, achieved through the usage of manual and automated testing tools for the consistent delivery of quality software.
Accountable for an end- to- end view of testing activities, risks and issues, scope, and coverage

Must have good interpersonal, problem- solving, scheduling, and organizational skills.
At least 7 years testing experience with at least 5 years in a test lead role
Ability to work in a team environment and attention to detail
Tertiary qualification in an IT- related degree
Ability to listen to others well and to be able to draw out missing information
Good understanding of defect tracking process
Solid understanding of testing methodologies and testing techniques
Knowledge of automated testing technologies, testing frameworks and best practices
Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a clear thought process
Experience in black & white box testing techniques
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner
Experience working with relational databases and SQL
