Responsibilities:
Transportation and Logistics Management
Ensure alignment with overall shipping plans for timely deliveries.
Oversee transportation planning, shipping schedules, and coordination of trucking, barges, and vessels.
Manage the movement of goods from warehouse / manufacturing facility to the port and distribution points.
Cost Optimization and Execution Monitoring
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost- saving initiatives.
Optimize barge turnaround times and minimize lay- up costs through effective scheduling.
Monitor and evaluate the execution of transportation plans to ensure cost efficiency.
Reporting and Data Analysis
Prepare and present monthly reports on shipment allocations, transportation costs, and logistics performance.
Analyze logistics data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost- saving opportunities.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
Perform other tasks assigned by the team leader.
Maintain strong relationships with external transportation providers and ensure high service levels and compliance.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, warehousing) to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor&039;s degree in Economics, Foreign Trade, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
Quick- thinking, adaptable, and capable of handling operational challenges effectively.
Knowledge of domestic transportation and waterway logistics is an advantage.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficiency in English.
At least 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
