This role combines high- level makeup expertise with training, coaching, and quality control, directly supporting brand image and sales performance.
The Make Up Artist & Trainer is responsible for standardizing makeup techniques, training retail teams, and ensuring consistent luxury customer experience across the system.
Responsibilities:
Makeup Training & Standardization (Core Responsibility)
Develop and standardize makeup looks for collections, campaigns, launches, and events.
Design and deliver basic to advanced makeup training programs for Beauty Advisors (BA).
Assess makeup skills of Beauty Advisors and track performance improvement through regular evaluations.
Train quick makeup demo techniques to support retail selling.
Demonstrate professional makeup techniques and coach hands- on practice during training sessions and in- store.
Sales & Customer Experience Training
Coach selling skills: needs analysis, consultation, product demonstration, objection handling, and closing.
Train luxury service standards, including tone of voice, grooming, posture, and customer engagement.
Provide on- the- job coaching at stores to ensure correct application of standards and selling techniques.
Product Knowledge Training (Cosmetics & Fragrance)
Conduct onboarding training for new BA.
Standardize product training materials by product lines, launches, and campaigns.
Deliver in- depth product training on ingredients, benefits, application methods, and key selling points (USP).
Brand Events & Activities
Support makeup demonstrations and technical presentations as required by campaigns or events.
Provide makeup services for brand events, product launches, masterclasses, workshops, and photoshoots.
Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to ensure consistent brand image and execution.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
Develop training tools such as quizzes, flashcards, visual guides, and instructional videos.
Coordinate or support Mystery Shopping programs and propose improvement actions.
Conduct in- store quality checks using standard checklists (grooming, consultation, demo, closing).
Analyze training results and recommend ongoing improvement plans.
Tools & Equipment Management
Manage training kits and ensure readiness for training sessions and events.
Ensure proper hygiene, safety, and maintenance of makeup tools and products.
