Job Description
Operations
Monitor undischarged Transit forms.
Ensure all documentation present for archiving purposes.
Monitor license/visa applications.
Monitor duty deferment usage and levels.
Ensure all classification instructions for all shipments for all customers.
Meet with local customs to discuss performance, delays, red- channels, customs developments, and plans.
Ensure that all customers are on a direct representation agreement.
Ensure no duty/VAT unbilled.
Finance:
Follow Account Receivable (AR) report – review, delegate, and chase.
Follow up refunds with customs authorities.
Follow up the customs guarantee for various operations.
Ensure every account has a credit limit and check for credit extension when needed.
Department Profit and Lost (P&L) – review, identify, plan.
Sales:
Make Retention/Sales calls as per target.
Issuance of customs proposal.
Ensure all new business is transitioned correctly.
Report all calls- sales activities in Team sell and retention calls in the Retention database.
People:
Train, motivate, challenge and mentor other employees.
Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development.
Conduct annual reviews for employee retention program – against company and job expectations.
Ensure all staff and positions have job descriptions, clear expectations and are working with structured development plan.
Create personal development plan with each employee. Set up, plan training and follow- up.
System:
Management of customs system
Promote productivity tools using company tools, system & process.
Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department.
Send client report requests through the available database from company system.
Audit of files in accordance with requirement/ policy.
