Manager, IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security

They are responsible for the cyber security programme and technology lifecycle of network connected devices such as laptops, ipads and IOT devices.
They actively mentor and guide IT staff towards adopting recommended
troubleshooting, planning and security practices.
This position focuses on the Management and Technical Leadership of the school&039;s mission critical on campus and cloud based IT Infrastructure. Key platforms include Google Workspace, campus network, servers, telephony, disaster recovery, firewall, monitoring systems.
They keep current with emerging technologies and contribute to the solution design when the time comes to replace legacy infrastructure.
Management Responsibilities:
● Participates in leading and documenting the IT infrastructure components of projects such as Campus Development.
● Lead the Cyber Security programme for the school including end user awareness training, hardening and monitoring IT systems including Google Workspace for security breaches performance problems and threat detection.
● Design highly available internet configurations that include DDOS protection, load balancing, quality of service and security.
● Design and maintain application and operating system deployment platforms, train support IT officers in good practices.
● Manage the underlying infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance of building management, CCTV and access control systems. Ensure all systems have adequate visibility into systems access and anonymous access is prevented.
● Design backup and recovery architectures for SaaS systems and on campus systems that leverage the modern backup and recovery solutions.
● Maintains the school wide single sign on and user provisioning/deprovisioning infrastructure
● Oversee Asset Management to ensure all client and IOT devices are monitored, maintained and replaced when they reach end of life.
● Lead the development, communication and implementation of an infrastructure technology roadmap including cyber security, device and platform lifecycles, disaster recovery, mobile and smart technology integration.
● Develop and implement infrastructure wide solutions and enhancements as new
technology emerges and existing infrastructure reaches its end of life.
● Serve as a backup by cross training on other critical systems such as Google Workspace.
● Act as an escalation point for system wide problems, assist support officers as called upon.

Education & Certifications
● Advanced understanding of Active Directory, GPO, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, SSL
● Advanced understanding of cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, especially: EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, WAF, Active Directory, VPC, ELB.
● Industry certifications preferred such as: CISM, Palo Alto administration, Amazon Solutions Architect, Google Workspace Administrator, CISCO Meraki or evidence of completion of online courses.
● Bachelor&039;s degree or equivalent experience
● Advanced understanding of online office productivity suites such as Google Workspace, Office 365, iWork, AWS Productivity.
● Strong understanding of cyber security and concepts such as DNS, Encryption in transit, encryption at rest
Working in teams:
● Is familiar with service desk best practices such as: responding to support requests in a timely manner, reviewing and updating tickets multiple times per day.
● Contributes to team planning by adding tasks to the team backlog based on awareness of the team’s goals.
