Mechanical Engineer Plastics Procurement Engineer on Contract

Key Responsibilities
Sourcing and Supplier Management
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and our Mpa.
• Establish and maintain strong supplier & MPa relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
• Identify, evaluate and assess suppliers for plastics and tooling components.
Quality Assurance
• Address and resolve all quality issues with suppliers and Mpa with effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that materials and tooling meet requirement specifications and company standards.
Cost & Program Management
• Monitor and report on potential cost improvements and budget adherence.
• Knowledge to market trends and pricing to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Be a site lead to ensure tool transfer to production requirements are executed and ensure no lapse in procurement practices.
• Identify gaps in manufacturing process and report potential cost savings.
• Collaborate with suppliers and Mpa to ensure timely delivery of tooling, qualification and production timelines.
Process Improvement
• Continuously evaluate and improve current procurement practices on- site.
• Implement best practices in manufacturing environment, improvement in HP’s processes and conduct regular audit.
Cross- functional collaboration
• Provide technical support and guidance on- site to ensure compliance with company’s manufacturing process and requirements.
• Work closely with internal teams to understand material and design requirements for production.
Experiences
Excellent analytical & supplier management skills.
Hands- on experiences in using 2D and 3D CAD applications like Creo, ProE or SolidWorks.
Able to station in Vietnam Hanoi for 12 months
Bachelor&039;s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical discipline.
Able to travel locally to supplier & manufacturing sites
Minimum 5 years experiences in the plastics tooling and molding industry.
Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and statistical quality processes.
