Plans and manages banquet sales calls and client approach strategies in line with Account Management procedures, adhering to Melia Hotels International standards on an annual, monthly, weekly, and daily basis.
Maintains accurate and up- to- date records in HMS or other sales systems, including client profiles, event details, call outcomes, rate history, and market intelligence.
Works closely with other departments (Culinary, Banquet Operations, Events, Front Office, Housekeeping, etc.) to ensure all client requirements are fulfilled for each event.
Carries out any other banquet- related duties as assigned by the Sales Manager, Director of Sales, or Director of Sales & Marketing.
Maintains effective two- way communication between clients and internal departments, keeping clients informed of hotel developments and updating senior management on client feedback, market trends, and competitor activities.
Handles all banquet- related inquiries and leads from potential clients including meetings, site inspections, menu presentations, negotiations, proposal writing, contract finalization, and attends promotional or sales events as assigned by the Sales Manager or Director of Sales.3. Supports the Sales Manager in banquet sales activities by identifying new business opportunities through existing or new accounts, telesales, client visits, and participating in sales blitzes or marketing campaigns.
Prepares daily and weekly productivity reports outlining leads, tentative and confirmed bookings, lost business, and corrective actions taken.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with banquet clients to secure repeat business and ensures consistent follow- ups to maximize banquet revenue.
Performs administrative tasks such as handling correspondence related to assigned banquet accounts, attending internal meetings, and preparing monthly sales activity reports.
Coordinates VIP and special events banquet arrangements, ensuring client satisfaction by delivering service in line with Melia Hotels International standards from pre- event to post- event.
