About Us
Back in 2004—long before “SaaS” was a buzzword—we quietly reshaped the food service industry. Our first platform (then called MyRecipes) gave professional chefs in New Zealand the ability to cost recipes in minutes and generate accurate nutrition data—something that had previously been slow, error- prone, and frustrating.
Twenty years on, with loyal users who still swear by us, we’re scaling globally. Our focus? Taking cutting- edge tech and applying it where it matters most: making chefs’ lives simpler, faster, and smarter. We know what we’re doing—and now we’re looking for someone exceptional to help us push it even further.
We didn’t set out to make headlines (though we did). For us, this was just the beginning of a mission: to build the tools food professionals actually need, not the ones the industry thinks they should settle for.
Who We’re Opening the Door To
If you’re looking for “just a job,” this isn’t it. If you’re ready to step into a product with legacy, momentum, and users who rely on it every day—then keep reading.
Our team is small, sharp, and deliberate about who we bring in. Right now, we’re ready to make space for a developer who’s confident in Python, thrives on clean server- side architecture, and wants their code to have direct, real- world impact.
But let’s be clear—this isn’t about filling a seat. We’re very close to launching our new app to the world and we&039;re looking for strong team members to expand out team.
What You’ll Need to Bring
Solid PostgreSQL knowledge—schema design, performance tuning, real- world optimization.
A deep understanding of server- side logic and scalable architecture.
An instinct for reliability, performance, and security at scale.
Excellent communication skills—you’ll need to collaborate across product, design, and ops.
A testing mindset that values stability without slowing delivery.
Strong experience building APIs that work across frontend, backend, and external systems.
Proven experience with Python.
What You’ll Actually Do
Design and maintain robust services with Python and Django.
Build APIs that power real- world use cases and integrate with payments, support, and analytics tools.
Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases to keep everything running fast.
Work directly with product and design to translate requirements into tools chefs truly use.
Ensure performance and security standards aren’t just met, but expected.
Test, debug, and refine code with a focus on what actually matters.
