Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Accounting/Payroll position
• Good communication in English
• High level analytical and critical thinking skills
• Payroll experience (mandatory)
• Experience with accounting software. JD Edwards or EPM would be highly regarded.
• Ability to communicate complex matters in a simple manner
• Budgeting experience is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• High level attention to detail and accuracy
• Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting
Work Hours: 20 hours per week
Final working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.
Role Objectives: Working collaboratively with global stakeholders, the role supports the payroll processes for Australia and Europe and contributes to Asia and North America payroll tasks when required. The position provides key operational and analytical support to ensure accurate, timely and compliant operations across multiple regions.
Hours will be worked across the standard office hours:8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, plus reasonable additional hours.
Payroll Support- Australia
• Working closely with the Australian People & Culture team, this position will provide assistance to process monthly payroll for over 200 employees in the Australian entity. This role will provide support to the Payroll Officer (Australia) and ensure continuity of payroll operations during peak times or absences. Key responsibilities include:
Responding to employee enquiries
Maintaining accurate employee data in the payroll system
Assisting with payroll calculations
Supporting monthly payroll reconciliations and reports
Entering and updating payroll- related transactions
Labour Budgeting and Analysis- Australia and Europe
• Assist in preparing labour analysis and commentary for the Senior Manager, Global Payroll (SMGP) for inclusion in the monthly Board Report.
• Support the review of monthly payroll journals by identifying and correcting coding errors.
• Support the People & Culture and Finance teams across the Australian and European entities to prepare a detailed financial year labour budget and forecast. This will include salaries and all payroll on costs, broken down by month, department, and position.
• Assist in tracking labour performance against budget, helping to identify key variance drivers and following up with stakeholders on any budget overages.
• Support the monthly labour analysis processes for both regions.
Responsibilities:
Ad hoc tasks
• Provide back- up and support to the Payroll Officer (Asia and North America) where required.
• Other ad- hoc tasks/projects as required from time to time.
• Assist external auditors on payroll queries.
