Senior College Admission Counselor Part Time

JOB DESCRIPTION
Flexible working: Only 1–2 days/week at the office, the rest of your work can be done online with students from anywhere.
Position Overview As a Part Time Senior College Admission Counselor, you will directly work with high school students and their families to provide strategic, personalized guidance throughout the college application process. Your role focuses on academic, career, profile building, extracurricular, personal branding and financial aid counseling, helping students prepare competitive applications to top universities (primarily in the US and other English- speaking countries). You are not expected to handle administrative work concerning contract signing, customer service, or visa guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide timelines, structure, and feedback to help students stay on track and meet deadlines.
Prepare students for interviews and assist with waitlist/deferral responses if applicable.
Answer questions from students and parents promptly (within 24 hours) on matters within the scope of the service.
Provide one- on- one counseling to students on profile building and personal branding strategy.
Join regular check- ins (as needed) with the GPA Counseling team for alignment on counseling practices and student progress.
Prepare and send students’ families a regular report using the company’s format and schedule.
Ensure high- quality, ethical guidance that aligns with GPA’s standards of integrity and professionalism.
Support students in building their academic and extracurricular profiles.
Advise students on the preparation and refinement of application materials
Guide students in setting target scores for standardized tests (SAT, ACT, IELTS/TOEFL) with general strategic advice (not test prep teaching).
REQUIREMENTS
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity when working with students and families.
Strong understanding of US and international college admissions processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently while aligning with GPA’s standards and values.
Passion for mentoring students and helping them grow through the application journey.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in college admissions counseling, preferably with a proven track record of students admitted to top- tier institutions.
