With the success of the local internship program, FACTS Asia proposes to launch the “FACTS Regional Internship Program.” This regional program provides an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students from neighboring Southeast Asian countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam) to hone and develop their skills and knowledge in research, public policy, and international relations in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. The program will enable candidates to be immersed in different projects and activities of FACTS Asia that will expand their peer network and support their growth as researchers or experts in the field.
Internship Program Objectives
The Regional Internship Program will run from October to December 2024 and will initially host one (1) student intern each from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. This is a remote internship program that offers 250 hours of internship duration, subject to the student’s allowable internship duration. As an online platform, the internship will be held purely remotely and offer interns valuable experience in monitoring and analyzing political events, conducting research and critical analysis, project planning, and copywriting and proofreading.
The Regional Internship Program will have the following objectives:
To create a network of young scholars in Southeast Asia specializing in future trends, current affairs, technology, and security issues.
To train and expose young and emerging scholars in monitoring and analyzing political events, conducting research and critical analysis, project planning, and copywriting and proofreading by achieving the Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
The interns will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Publish one (1) research article on FACTS website as a culmination of the internship; and
Prepare reports on reach, engagement, and other relevant activities;
Handle the posting and sharing of articles and events on FACTS social media;
Assist in organizing forums, webinars, seminars, and conferences as designated by the FACTS officers;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Provide research assistance, editing, and proofreading skills to the FACTS Asia editing team;
Participate and contribute to FACTS Asia intellectual and conference organizing functions;
Qualifications
Candidates must be a third- year or fourth- year undergraduate student or graduate student from Malaysia, Indonesia or Vietnam;
Enrolled in Social Science courses including but not limited to political science, international relations, public administration, economics, and other relevant fields;
Excellent English written and communication skills and strong research and analytical skills.
Has a strong interest in public policy, international relations, and environment, and in the field of environmental, social, and governance (ESG);
The selected interns will be given a communication allowance for the duration of the internship program.
