Role Overview
Reports to: Deputy General Manager
The Operation Director is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of mechanical fabrication and installation processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost control. This role involves strategic planning, production management, workforce leadership, and continuous improvement to meet customer expectations and business objectives. The position requires strong leadership, problem- solving, and technical expertise in manufacturing, specifically in steel structure fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly.

Key Responsibilities
Production Management & Planning
Develop short- term, medium- term, and long- term production plans that align with sales demand, customer deadlines, and operational capacity, including preparation of resources such as manpower, machinery, and materials to ensure full support for factory operations and production activities
Responsible for achieving optimum labor and least amount of overhead and raw material costs.
Monitor key production KPIs (cost per unit, yield, downtime, scrap rate, etc.) and take necessary actions for improvement.
Optimize workflows to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower production costs using lean manufacturing principles.
Coordinate with relevant departments to establish production processes, quality management processes
Supervise activities and preventive action, and research good way to reduce cost but still maintain products quality.
Engineering Management (Mechanical & Automation)
• Lead and manage the mechanical and automation engineering teams, ensuring alignment of designs and technical solutions with production, installation, and customer requirements.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical and automation engineering to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and professional development to engineering staff across both disciplines.
• Oversee the development of technical drawings, schematics, models, and automation control designs to support fabrication and project execution.
People Management & Team Development
Ensure effective training in welding techniques, machining operations, equipment handling, and safety protocols.
Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement programs for underperforming employees.
Foster a collaborative and disciplined work environment that promotes accountability and innovation.
Plan headcount, allocate installation personnel according to project requirements, and review workforce performance to ensure installation progress and quality
Quality Assurance, Compliance & Reporting
Promote a zero- incident safety culture and ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations (ISO 14001).
Implement and maintain ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Conduct regular workplace safety audits and risk assessments to prevent accidents.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fabrication processes and reduce rejection rates.
Prepare reports on production performance, challenges, and operational improvements for senior management.
Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, customer specifications, and legal requirements in steel fabrication.
Oversee quality inspections at each production stage (machining, welding, finishing, assembly) to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, or ASTM standards.
